    Brain Tumor Symptoms

    Sunny Day

Brain tumor symptoms vary from patient to patient, and most of these symptoms can also be found in people who do NOT have brain tumors. Therefore, the only sure way to tell if you have a brain tumor or not is to see your doctor and get a brain scan. They had did a survey of about 375 brain tumor patients to learn what symptoms they had that caused them to seek medical care.  The survey is ongoing.

Headaches: This was the most common symptom, with 46% of the patients reporting having headaches. They described the headaches in many different ways, with no one pattern being a sure sign of brain tumor. Many – perhaps most – people get headaches at some point in their life, so this is not a definite sign of brain tumors. You should mention it to your doctors if the headaches are: different from those you ever had before, are accompanied by nausea / vomiting, are made worse by bending over or straining when going to the bathroom.

Seizures: This was the second most common symptom reported, with 33% of the patients reporting a seizure before the diagnosis was made. Seizures can also be caused by other things, like epilepsy, high fevers, stroke, trauma, and other disorders. This is a symptom that should never be ignored, whatever the cause. In a person who never had a seizure before, it usually indicates something serious and you must get a brain scan.A seizure is a sudden, involuntary change in behavior, muscle control, consciousness, and/or sensation. Symptoms of a seizure can range from sudden, violent shaking and total loss of consciousness to muscle twitching or slight shaking of a limb. Staring into space, altered vision, and difficulty in speaking are some of the other behaviors that a person may exhibit while having a seizure. Approximately 10% of the U.S. population will experience a single seizure in their lifetime.

Nausea and Vomiting: As with headaches, these are non-specific – which means that most people who have nausea and vomiting do NOT have a brain tumor. Twenty-two percent of the people in our survey reported that they had nausea and /or vomiting as a symptom.Nausea and / or vomiting is more likely to point towards a brain tumor if it is accompanied by the other symptoms mentioned here.

Vision or hearing problems: Twenty-five percent reported vision problems. This one is easy – if you notice any problem with your hearing or vision, it must be checked out. I commonly hear that the eye doctor is the first one to make the diagnosis – because when they look in your eyes, they can sometimes see signs of increased intracranial pressure. This must be investigated.

Problems with weakness of the arms, legs or face muscles, and strange sensations in your head or hands. Twenty-five percent reported weakness of the arms and/or legs. Sixteen percent reported strange feelings in the head, and 9% reported strange feelings in the hands. This may result in an altered gait, dropping objects, falling, or an asymmetric facial expression. These could also be symptoms of a stroke. Sudden onset of these symptoms is an emergency – you should go to the emergency room. If you notice a gradual change over time, you must report it to your doctor.

Behavioral and cognitive problems: Many reported behavioral and cognitive changes, such as: problems with recent memory, inability to concentrate or finding the right words, acting out – no patience or tolerance, and loss of inhibitions – saying or doing things that are not appropriate for the situation.

IF you think something is wrong, go see your doctor. Explain that you are worried it is a brain tumor. Keep in mind that brain tumors are relatively rare compared to most other disorders, so the primary care doctor is not usually going to be thinking it is a brain tumor. They first think of more common causes of the symptoms. Sixty-four percent of the time, the doctor thought it was NOT a brain tumor when respondents first went to the doctor. More than half of the people reported that they had the symptoms for more than a month before the correct diagnosis of brain tumor was made. With the malignant brain tumors, a delay of a month in starting treatment can make a major impact on the outcome.

Care and maintenance of a chemoport

    Sunny Day

Today i choose this  because i come a cross that a lot of people who surround us don’t know and some even don’t know about what is chemoport and what is the purpose for. So i intend to share this topic more or less which link to my field of  works .

Let me brief what is a chemoport? It look like a terminal port  for a patient who’s need for long term chemo treatment. some patient may need twice a week or twice a month depand to what stage the patient is.

The doctor will insert this port under patient  right,  left chest or abdominal follow what category of cancer is . Then doctor or nurses will flash with saline to let it move smooth.

When  each time patient  come for chemo treatment, the nurses will clean it . first step nurses will flash with  10 mls of saline follow by 5 mls of haperin due to end tips of the chemoport which is a open end. So before start the tranfusion of the treatment this had to be done to avoid blockage.

The above sharing is only very basic maintenance. Hope it will usefull for those who like to know very basic care and maintenance.

    Breast Cancer

    Sunny Day

Breast cancer is very common and you can hear from friends or maybe your relative and anybody easily in every corner now a days. Is early for us to protect rather  than cure. What and how it growth in our cell?

Cancer occurs as a result of mutations, or abnormal changes, in the genes responsible for regulating the growth of cells and keeping them healthy. The genes are in each cell’s nucleus, which acts as the “control room” of each cell. Normally, the cells in our bodies replace themselves through an orderly process of cell growth: healthy new cells take over as old ones die out. But over time, mutations can “turn on” certain genes and “turn off” others in a cell. That changed cell gains the ability to keep dividing without control or order, producing more cells just like it and forming a tumor.

A tumor can be benign (not dangerous to health) or malignant (has the potential to be dangerous). Benign tumors are not considered cancerous: their cells are close to normal in appearance, they grow slowly, and they do not invade nearby tissues or spread to other parts of the body. Malignant tumors are cancerous. Left unchecked, malignant cells eventually can spread beyond the original tumor to other parts of the body.

The term “breast cancer” refers to a malignant tumor that has developed from cells in the breast. Usually breast cancer either begins in the cells of the lobules, which are the milk-producing glands, or the ducts, the passages that drain milk from the lobules to the nipple. Less commonly, breast cancer can begin in the stromal tissues, which include the fatty and fibrous connective tissues of the breast.

Over time, cancer cells can invade nearby healthy breast tissue and make their way into the underarm lymph nodes, small organs that filter out foreign substances in the body. If cancer cells get into the lymph nodes, they then have a pathway into other parts of the body. The breast cancer’s stage refers to how far the cancer cells have spread beyond the original tumor (see  Breast Cancer table for more information).

Breast cancer is always caused by a genetic abnormality (a “mistake” in the genetic matebreast_anatomy_tcm8-3293951rial). However, only 5-10% of cancers are due to an abnormality inherited from your mother or father. About 90% of breast cancers are due to genetic abnormalities that happen as a result of the aging process and the “wear and tear” of life in general.

While there are steps every person can take to help the body stay as healthy as possible  such as eating a balanced diet, not smoking, limiting alcohol, and exercising regularly.

    Singapore Sales

    Sunny day
This morning, my sister and I went to the Isetan Private Sales in Singapore. When we reached there around 9am and the i got a shock to see such a long queue and we have to walk a few block away from the entrance to line up for entering the shopping mall. I asked my sister isn’t it the global crisis now and everywhere people being retrench? Why still people buying like crazy??
We took about more than half an hour to get to the entrance and inside the shopping mall was even crowded. Everywhere and and everybody is queing for payment. I think this will be a good idea to boost up the economy GDP (Gross Domestic Product).
And when i return home i received a call from my good friend, she told me that she got retrenched . Is that really affect badly? I been hearing the news and friends’ conversation about this topics. Everybody is predicting next year economy will be even more down trend and there will be even more retrenchment in next year.
So i hope with this everybody will spend wisely and have a good plan for our future and overcome this crisis.

    Tong Yuen

    Sunny Daytongyuen1

Today for Asia chinese ,is a big day celebration for them. Because  in chinese calender today is call “Dong Zi” mean all the chinese people will buy the glutinous rice to make a dough,it can be big or small sharp but in round. They only use two color which is white and red cos red is “good luck” for chinese. It can with or without ingredient inside. Beside that they will cook others dishes and gathering just like reunion. They believe this glutinous rice ball mean “Tong Yuen” is good luck and gathering.

This custom was began due to a fish village,  their food is only fish. One day when this family was having dinner and  in a sudden one of the family member get chock by a fish bone and feel  difficulty at the same time  a beggar come to thier house and beg  for food. In the house only have fish so they give beggar the fish,as a return the beggar give the family a dough which make from glutinous rice .The beggar ask them to feed the family member with it. So the fish bone will go with the dough and save his life. From than the villager believe  is a lucky day and all of them gather again with eating this glutinous rice dough.

So from time to time and century to century till today, all the chinese people will pray and cook the glutinous rice ball and celebrate. And is easy to cook. First, just cook the water with ginger and a littler of “gula melaka” call it brown sugar and few fragrance leave  till the water boil  then put the gultinous rice ball in. After it cook just serve it very easy .

    Miracle

    Cool Night

I was on my way to meet up my friends to have drink and do some blogging. When i reach the place that we had date, my friends was doing their works blogging.  So as usual i order a glass of  honey lemon alovera for myself  that my favorite drinks and start my to on it my laptop.

While we were doing our own things we hear outside the cafe all the police cars and track raid the ilegal china girls who’s work in the nightlife area. Hope they can go back  to their hometown soon no matter what reason they come here for anyhow home sweet home. Maybe they can start their new life in their own hometown after this incident happen.

When this happen one of my friend who’s always like to know , he is the person who’s  full of curiosity and a fast learner  on things, matter, people and etc. So when the time hit 12.45pm the cafe is starting to clear and close, we also prepare to go off. When we say goodbye to each other and start my car back to my house journey suddenly i receive my  friend call. He lost his car key and can’t find it,so i take a turn back to the cafe there and help him to search.

The moments i reach there he was sitting down a chair and a table with all his bag stuff one by one he remove out from it. And i just give a helping hand on it, we try to touch and search the  bag even the edge, remove every single things in his bag and empty it clear. Still can’t find it. And we predict maybe he drop the car key after he has park his car instead of putting the car key inside the bag he put it in his pants and accidentally drop it.

He try and go around the area where he park his car and the distance where he had walk from the car park to the cafe. And we also trouble the cafe staff a lot of time due to searching the car key. We had try and try , again and again do the same things but the answer still the same “NO”.

So my friend decide to call a locksmith tomorrow to open his car and we go for a drink than. While we having drinks my friend pray to his god and hope that he can found his car key back . So for my point of view is impossible to happen ‘cos i am there and we are searching high and low all the single chance that we thought will happen but still fail. So after the drink we go home.

The moments i prepare to sleep cos it been all night searching the car key and the time already 4am in the morning. He ask me again will i believe they car key  appear in his bag? I am very sure is impossible and told him to rest early and get a locksmith to open his car, than he ask me to get the car key from his bag which we had search for  all night long. And it really appear infront  the zip of the bag. I really get shock with my own eye .

Is like a miracle and unbelievable. This is my first time i meet up with this kind of situation with my own eye really happen. How shall i explain it?  I can say that this incident really a miracle for me,and always trust what you believe.  If any of you have any miracle story maybe can just share with me.

Welcome all my friends and have a nice weekend. X’mas is arround the corner HOHOHOH Merry X’mas.

    A New Life

    sunny day060

I am very happy because my family add another new member. His name is Lucas my nephew born on the 10th of Dec 08. He is so cute but too bad due to my cold & sore throat i can’t near and carry him. Hope before i go back to Malacca i will recover soon.

Love can be many category of love, todays  i  like to share about greatest love from a mother. Well a father too. Without our father we also can’t arrived to this beautifull world. Why i say greatest love from a mother? See , from the first day of we arrived is in our mother womb than our mother had to care, love and feed us with her gentle, soft, patient  heart. After 9 month of the journey in the womb than is time for us to start our own with the first breath with this wonderfull world.

But our mother will still have to guide, care, love and etc….  Til we growth up. From the first day of journey we come to this world our parents will always never give up to help, guide, care, love and sacrific all for their baby.

Is just like a routine, when we growth up is our time to educate our young generation. So we will keep doing this generation by generation with great love, patient, care and kind. Please share with me with this topic if  anybody have their opinion.I always welcome you.Have a nice weekend to all .

Hereby, attached my sister new born baby name lucas.
